The Tracklogix Web Portal offers powerful features for fleet management, including the ability to set up geofences and receive alerts when vehicles enter or exit specific areas. This guide will walk you through the process of creating geofences and configuring alerts in the Tracklogix Web Portal, allowing you to monitor and manage your fleet more effectively.
1. Access the Live View Tab:
Start by logging in to the Tracklogix Web Portal using your credentials. Once logged in, navigate to the Live View tab, which provides a real-time map view of your fleet's locations.
2. Create a Geofence:
To create a geofence, right-click anywhere on the map where you want to define the boundary. This action will open a context menu.
3. Select "Create Geo-Fence":
From the context menu, select the option labeled "Create Geo-Fence." This will open a pop-up window where you can outline and name your geofence.
4. Outline and Name the Geofence:
Using the provided tools, outline the desired shape of your geofence on the map. You can create a circular or polygonal geofence. Give the geofence a descriptive name to easily identify it later.
5. Process and Apply the Geofence:
After outlining and naming the geofence, click on the appropriate button to save or apply the geofence. Note that it may take up to 5 minutes for the geofence to be processed and applied to the start and end points of vehicle trips.
6. Go to the Admin Tab and Alerts Section:
Navigate to the Admin tab within the Tracklogix Web Portal. Look for the Alerts section, which allows you to configure various types of alerts for your fleet.
7. Click on "New Alert Wizard":
Within the Alerts section, click on the "New Alert Wizard" button to initiate the setup of a new alert.
8. Select Geo-Fence Alert Type:
In the New Alert Wizard, choose the type of alert you want to create. Select the option for "Geo-Fence Alert" to configure an alert based on geofence activity.
9. Configure Geo-Fence Alert Details:
Specify the geofence you want to monitor by selecting it from the available options. Choose when you would like the alert to be triggered, such as when a vehicle enters or exits the geofence.
10. Select Assets and Users:
Select the specific assets (vehicles) to which the alert should apply. Choose the users who should receive these alerts, such as fleet managers or designated personnel.
11. Set the Alert Name:
Provide a name for the alert to easily identify it within the Tracklogix Web Portal.
12. Save and Activate the Alert:
Once all the details are configured, save the alert settings. Activate the alert to enable it for the selected assets and users.
